Hey there Reader!
Are you in need of a change in perspective?
Inspiration can come from anywhere. In a flash, something that seems set in stone transforms into the springboard for new ideas, new opportunities, and a new understanding of a phenomenon you've taken for granted.
I recently had this experience watching the new JFK documentary, What The Doctors Saw, but this happens in healthcare and CME/CE, too. The breakthrough of immuno-oncology, for example, was only made possible by approaching cancer therapy from a different perspective. And despite the success of immuno-oncology, Jim Allison, the American immunologist whose ideas revolutionized how we treat cancer today, was dismissed for years.
When used creatively, a fresh perspective:
Since Winter Solstice is almost upon us in the northern hemisphere, I invite you to use this naturally reflective time of year to assess your work with a new lens.
Take the time to be still, take stock of your surroundings, and clear your mind of the stress that bogs you down throughout the year.
Is there another way to approach your work in 2024 that will give you more clarity and fulfillment?
In the spirit of giving, I have an exciting free resource for you, created by marketing expert Lori De Milto.
Lori is a valuable expert for freelance medical writers, and in October, she ran a workshop on marketing strategies with WriteCME Pro members.
Download your free copy of her ebook, Get the Freelance Medical Writing and Editing Clients You Deserve, and begin building a more sustainable and successful career in medical communications.
I promise you will get a ton of value from this resource!
Do your learning outcome measurements have the right amount of… spice? Listen to the insightful opinions of Katie Lucero, PhD, Vice President, Audience, Analytics, Outcomes & Insights at Medscape, to hear her perspective on the importance of outcome reports (especially in self-reported confidence and competence). Here's what Brian McGowan said on LinkedIn about these episodes.

Listen as Núria Negrao explains her pro-ethical and informed generative AI take on CME/CE content creation on episode 82 and 84 of the Write Medicine podcast.

Standing Still and Looking Forward |
And at the end of this episode, I’ll be sharing details with you about a digital goodie bag.
We are all just one perspective shift away from exploring a new frontier, and I wish you nothing but happy exploration in the coming year.
So, how will you shift your perspective in 2024? Reply to this email and let me know!
Thank you for listening to Write Medicine this season and for reading this email. I’m signing off for now, but I’m already eager to reconnect with you in 2024!
