We had a terrific turnout yesterday for our workshop with Martha Johnson from Breakout RN! Martha walked us through transforming complex learning objectives into interactive, decision-driven educational escape rooms.
Beyond reviewing the mechanics of puzzle design (locks! codes & ciphers! Google forms!), Martha's puzzle library, and how to layer content using a clinical judgment framework (like Tanner's Model), this session really highlighted what makes the WriteCME Pro community so special:
- Applied Learning in Action: We explored how story-driven escape rooms serve as an evidence-based active learning tool to boost engagement, teamwork, and decision-making in a low stakes environment.
- Dedicated Space for Questions: From parsing out granular objectives (include way more in an escape room than in a needs assessment) to selecting settings and navigating online versus in-person formats, the open dialogue in our session gave everyone space to tailor ideas to their specific interests.
- Community Support: Having a collaborative environment where we can bounce ideas off one another, share practical tips, and figure out creative solutions together makes all the difference in our growth as writers in the healthcare continuing education space.

- Sept 29 — Seasonal Gathering. Review, reflect, redirect—plan your final quarter for 2026 with peer support.
- Oct 13 — Crack the Code on SME Interviews. A flipped-classroom workshop on interviewing subject matter experts with live role play. Review the course materials first, then practice on real personas — including the SME who rambles, steamrolls, or answers your interview questions in one word.
- Nov 5 — Show & Tell: From Manuscript to Motion: Designing CME Animations That Teach. Member Rhona Fraser BVMS on storyboarding, working with animation teams, and managing cognitive load.
- Nov 10 + Nov 17 — Qualitatively Distinct: Using Qualitative Data in CME. A self-paced course with two coaching sessions for your questions.
- Oct 27 and Nov 24 — Monthly Office Hours. Bring the questions you need answers for.
