Hi Reader!

Happy New Year to you and lang may your lum reek!

Say what now? This Scottish saying simply means long may your chimney burn, or long may you live! Whatever it means, I truly hope 2024 is a terrific year for you and yours.

Lessons Learned in 2023

Like many folks, I have a process that I use to reflect on my life and work at the end of the year. It’s the same 3-step process I use for 90-day planning—reflect, review, redirect.

At the end of 2023, I joined Dr. Alaina Szlatchka and seven other business owners for a conversation on what learning and professional development leaders should focus on to improve our work in 2024.

My 3 lessons were:

  1. Embracing Quality over Quantity
  2. The Power of Learning by Doing
  3. The Importance of Small Steps

You can listen to replays of this event here.

What lessons did you learn last year and what will you do differently in 2024?

Measuring Outcomes

Are you overemphasizing the design and measurement of learning events versus learning processes?

Watch Dr. Alaina Szlachta from Measurement Made Easy break down how to focus your time and resources to predictably improve learning outcomes.

And by the way, Alaina will soon be a guest on the Write Medicine podcast.
